Description
The papers of Augustus Saint-Gaudens contain correspondence, manuscripts, pencil sketches, financial and legal documents, photographs, newspaper clippings and printed matter related to Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the Cornish Colony and members of his extended family, including his son Homer Saint-Gaudens (1880-1958), his nephew Paul Saint-Gaudens (1900-1954), his sister-in law Annetta Johnson Saint-Gaudens (1869-1943), his brother Louis Saint-Gaudens (1854-1913), as well as other members of the Saint-Gaudens and Dolley families. Of note are several drafts of Augustus Saint-Gaudens autobiography "Reminiscences" completed, after his death, by his son Homer as well as documents related to the establishment of the Peter Cooper memorial at Cooper Union, New York.
