Biography
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese offers a wide array of courses for students interested in both language and literature, designed to appeal to major and non-major students alike. It used to be part of the Romance Languages and Literatures Department.
John Baptist Torricelli was the first instructor of Romance Languages and Literatures from 1852-1859.
