Dartmouth College. Development Office

Biography

Development and fundraising activities date back to the College's founding with subscriptions for expansion of the physical plant and raising of operational fund through rents ands solicitations. Perhaps the first organized capital campaign was the fundraising effort to rebuild Dartmouth Hall in 1904, which led to the creation of the Alumni Fund. The Development Office evolved from these fundraising operations, previously primarily overseen by Alumni Affairs.
