Dartmouth College. Council on Honorary Degrees

Biography

At its Commencement each June, Dartmouth awards honorary degrees to select individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the arts and humanities, the sciences, business and industry or public service in the broadest sense. Degrees awarded include Doctorates of Arts, Humane Letters, Laws, Letters, Literature, and Science. The recepients are chosen by a council to represent the four faculties of the College in conference with the President and Trustees on the award of honorary degrees. They also cooperate with the Committee on Commencement in determining faculty participation at Commencement and on similar occasions.
