Dartmouth College. Senior Officers Council

 

Biography

Created in 1982 as an advisory body for President McLaughlin, the Senior Officers' Council consisted of those members of the Dartmouth administration who reported directly to the president. The Council met approximately twice a month to discuss current issues concerning the College. The Council's responsibilities involved working toward consensus, solutions and potential policies, and to consider items for meetings the Board of Trustees. In function and purpose, the Senior Officers' Council was similar to the President's Advisory Committee during the administration of John Kemeny.
