Abasand Oils Limited
Biography
Abasand Oils Ltd. started producing oil from the large oil sands deposits in the Horse River valley, Alberta, Canada in September 1936. The plant operated for five years when a fire destroyed the powerhouse. The plant was rebuilt and continued to operate until 1945, when yet another fire devastate the plant. The plant was never operational again.
