Dartmouth Conference on Organization of Polar Research in the U.S. (1958)

 

Biography

The conference was held on December 18-19, 1958 in order to discus the future objectives and organization of polar research , with particular reference to the most effective participation by academic institutions. Following the conference the National Academy of Science committee accepted a request from the Dartmouth Conference to draw together representatives of academic institutions who had an interest in basic polar research programs.
