Biography
Oliver Payson Hubbard was born on March 31, 1809 in Pomfret, Connecticut. He received an A.B. from Yale University in 1828 and joined the Dartmouth faculty as an associate professor of chemistry and pharmacy in 1836. He was promoted to full professor in 1838. From 1839 to 1845, Hubbard was treasurer and secretary of the Medical School faculty and from 1851-1865 College librarian. He retired in 1883 and died in 1900.
