Foster, Carol Harris, 1913-2007
Biography
Carol Harris Foster was born in 1913. While living with her husband, William Foster, and two sons in Nashua, New Hampshire, she was hired by the FBI to infiltrate the Communist Party in New Hampshire. She worked for the FBI from 1945 to 1958, and in 1958, she gave testimony to the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC) on her investigation. After revealing her undercover role, Foster was celebrated for her patriotism and was invited to speak at several events. Foster was also a freelance photographer. She died in 2007.

Collection of Carol H. Foster documents her time as an anti-communist informant for the FBI in New Hampshire. Foster spent over a decade undercover in the Communist Party and gave testimony to the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in 1958. The collection includes newspapers documenting her 1958 testimony and its aftermath. Her scrapbook contains clippings from these newspapers and other documents relating to the HUAC hearing.
