Text of two dispatches by Cyrus S. Burpee describing experiences when the troop transport on which he was travelling south was blown off course and put in at Nassau. Essays published in the Manchester, New Hampshire, "Daily Mirror," March 26 and May 16, 1862 and reprinted in the "Weekly Mirror, March 29 and May 24.
