Biography

George Howard Malcolm Rowe graduated from Dartmouth College in 1864. After graduation he studied medicine at Harvard, receiving his medical degree in 1868. In the fall of that year he became assistant physician at the Boston Lunatic Hospital, after a few months leaving for a similar position in the Pennsylvania Hospital for the Insane. In April, 1869, he was appointed assistant superintendent of the Boston Lunatic Hospital, and remained there until his appointment in June, 1879, as superintendent and resident physician of the Boston City Hospital. Ill health compelled him to resign this position in 1908
