Biography

John Badger Clarke raduated from Dartmouth College in 1843.He was the principle of Gilford Acadeny in Laconia and admitted to the Bar in 1848. He then lived in California for a year and 4 months in Central America. He returned to Manchester and opened a law office. In 1852 Joseph C Emerson, owner of the Daily Mirror requested he take charge of the Daily Mirror Editorial Department.
