Biography
Ezra Eastman Adams (1813–1871. He graduated from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1836, and in 1840 became chaplain to the seamen at Le Havre, France. After serving there 10 years, he made an extensive tour in Europe, then returned to America. In 1854, Adams became pastor of the Pearl Street Congregational Church in Nashua, New Hampshire.
In 1860, he became secretary of the American and Foreign Christian Union in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and later pastor of the New School Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
From 1867 until his death, Adams was professor of Latin and Rhetoric at Lincoln University, near Oxford, Pennsylvania.
