Biography

He was educated in the Windham schools then went on to Pinkerton Academy in Derry and from there entered Dartmouth college and graduated with the class of 1868. Immediately following graduation he moved to Minnesota, where he became superintendent of schools in Hastings, a position he held for ten years. He then became principal of the high school in St. Paul for five years. Upon resigning he returned to New Hampshire to teach in the McCollom Institute, Mt. Vernon, NH. In 1888 he became a member of the faculty of Pinkerton Academy, his alma mater, teaching mathematics and physics.
