Biography
Robert Browning (7 May 1812 – 12 December 1889) was an English poet and playwright whose dramatic monologues put him high among the Victorian poets. He was noted for irony, characterization, dark humour, social commentary, historical settings and challenging vocabulary and syntax.

Four-page letter from Robert Browning in London to and unidentified recipient, telling him that he thinks addressee might wonder at his silence. He explains it by saying that he was waiting to send photograph of himself, also, to find words which would in some degree reciprocate the goodness ans sympathy of addressee.
