Biography
Karsten (Charlie) Andersen was a seaman with the "Polar Bear." He joined the Canadian Arctic Expedition when Stefansson bought the ship, and went north with Stefansson in 1916.

Four typescript drafts of a ms. Andersen based on the diaries he kept while he was a member of the 1913-1918 Canadian Arctic Expedition ms. describes his experiences living and travelling in the Arctic. Fourth draft has corrections and suggestions made by Vilhjalmur Stefansson
