Biography

Clinton C. Gardner (1922-). Dartmouth class of 1944. Author, former owner of Shopping International, Executive Officer of the military government team that took charge of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp soon after its liberation, and an executive director of several NGO's related to East- West understanding and peace issues.

Contains one damaged World War II helmet, correspondence scrapbooks and photographs relating to Gardner's war service. Includes accounts of D-day, life in a military hospital, and the administration of the Buchenwald prison camp.
