Charles Widmayer was born on June 4, 1908 in Washington, DC. He graduated from Dartmouth in 1930 and returned as an assistant in the English department in 1932. He went on to be director of the college news service, a biographer of Ernest Martin Hopkins and John Sloan Dickey and Editor of the Alumni Magazine. He retired as Editor of the Alumni Magazine Emeritus in 1973. He died on Sept. 19, 1991 in Lebanon, NH.

Scope and Contents The oral history interview of Charles Widmayer is comprised of three audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Jere Daniell on March 24 and April 3, 1980 in Hanover, NH. The entire interview runs for approximately three hours.
