Martin Lindahl was born on April 29, 1903 in Winton, Minnesota. He graduated from Carleton College in 1924 as was hired by Dartmouth College as a member of the Economics Department in 1931. He served as chairman of the department from 1953-1957 and retired as Professor of Economics Emeritus in 1968. He died in 1987 in Hanover, NH.

Scope and Contents The oral history interview of Martin Lindahl is comprised of three audiocassette recordings and a tape log of the recordings. The interview was conducted by Arthur Wilson on May 12 and 19, 1975 in Hanover,NH. The entire interview runs for approximately three hours. Lindahl comments on the Economic Department Faculty, Malcolm Kier's suspicion of theoretical economics, various faculty's careers, and the 1954 External Review of Economics Department.
