Basil Milovsoroff was born on Dec. 31, 1906 in Verch-Anyysk, Siberia. He graduated from Oberlin College in 1932 and was hired by Dartmouth College in 1958 as a member of the Russian Language Department. He served as its chairman from 1963-1967. He also headed the Russian Language Institute. He retired as Professor of Russian Language and Literature Emeritus in 1972. He died in 1992 in Hartford, VT.

Scope and Contents The oral history interview of Basil Milovsoroff is comprised of one audiocassette recording and a tape log of the recording. The interview was conducted by Arthur M. Wilson on June 3, 1975 in Norwich, VT. The entire interview runs for approximately one hour. Milovsoroff assesses the instruction and growth of the Russian department and the Institute.
