Biography
Frederick Smyth Page was born Oct. 28, 1889 in Candia, NH. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1913 and received an MS from the University of Vermont in 1914. In 1915, he was hired by Dartmouth College to teach in the Botany Department, retiring as a full professor with emeritus status in 1957. He served in the infantry during World War I and was an airplane observer in Hanover during World War II. Fred Page died in Lebanon, NH, October 1, 1981, and is buried in Pine Knoll Cemetery.

Frederick Smyth Page, Professor of Botany at Dartmouth College. The collection contains his notes and surveys of Hanover trees, circa 1920-1957, and his records as an airplane observer during World War II. Also included is his University of Vermont masters thesis on the nutrition of trees, 1914 as well as correspondence with and of his son Donald Page.
