Poole, James Plummer, 1889-1984

 

Biography

James Poole was born on May 6, 1889 in Gloucester, Mass. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1912 and was hired by Dartmouth College as a member of the Evolution Department in 1922. In 1928 he received a honorary degree from Dartmouth College. He became a faculty member of the Botany Department in 1935 from which he retired with Emeritus status in 1957. James Poole died in White River Junction, VT in 1984.
