Biography
Thomas Vance was born on Oct. 22, 1908. He graduated from Yale in 1929 and was hired by Dartmouth College as a member of the English Department in 1940. He retired in 1973 as John Willard Professor of Oratory and English Literature Emeritus. Thomas Vance died in Pitigliano, Italy on September 18, 1988.
