Biography

Maude Adams wasborn on November 11, 1872 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was an actress who was best known for first playing the role of "Peter Pan" on Broadway in 1905. Adams began performing as a child and made her Brodway debut at age 16. She appeared in many plays, eventually becoming the most popular actress in America. She went into retirement in 1916 and returned to the stage in 1929. However, she gave up the theater to become an acting teacher at Stephens College in Missouri. Adams died on July 17, 1953.
