Biography
Herbert Sherman Gorman was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1893. He was a reporter and editor working for the "Times" and the "Herald Tribune. He also contributed poetry, articles, and book reviews to magazines and was the author of twenty books, mostly historical novels and biographies. Gorman died in 1954.

Herbert Sherman Gorman (1893-1954), writer. The collection contains the typescripts with handwritten corrections and printer's mark of three books by Gorman, "The Incredible Marquis, Alexandre Dumas" (1929), "Suzy" (1934) and "The Mountain and the Plain" (1936).
