Biography
Thomas Little Steele was born on December 1, 1826 in Epsom, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1847 after which he read law with John Bolles of Winchester, Massachusetts and Albert Hobart Nelson of Boston. For the next few years he practiced law in Epson before he moved to Montreal, Canada in 1857. In 1877, he formed the Steele Brothers Company, a manufacturer and supplier of roofing materials, with his brother Michael McCleary Steele. He died in 1889.
