Chapel, Charles Edward, 1904-1967

 

Biography

Charles Edward Chapel was born on May 16, 1904 in Manchester, Iowa. He studied at the University of Missouri and later at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. He saw active service in Panama, Cuba, Nicaragua, the Philippines, and China. Chapel was a writer who wrote about a variety of subjects such as aviation and forensics, as well as firearms. Publications include "Gun Collecting" (1939), "The Gun Collector's Handbook of Values" (1940) and "Guns of the Old West." Chapel died on February 20, 1967.
