Walters, Waltman, 1895-1988
Biography
Waltman Walters was born on July 29, 1895 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1917 and received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1920. He joined the Mayo Clinic in 1922 as an assistant surgeon becoming head of the division of surgery in 1924, a position he held until his retirement in 1960. In 1937, Walters received an honorary degree from Dartmouth College. He died on August 5, 1988.

Abstract
