Biography
Joseph William Gannon was born on November 17, 1873 in Concord, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1899. From 1915-1922, he was a member of the Alumni Council and in the 1940s and 50s, he was the chief of the censorship department of the "New York Times." Gannon died in 1967.

Abstract
Joseph William Gannon (1837-1967), chief of censorship department at "New York Times." Dartmouth College Class of 1899. The colection contains correspondence related to his work on and resignation from the Athletic Council and congratulations on his retirement from the "New York Times."
