Biography

Benjamin Joseph Gilbert was born on October 5, 1764 in Brookfield, Massachusetts. He received his degree from Yale University in 1786 after which he became a lawyer in Boston. He received an honorary degree from Dartmouth College in 1794 and died on December 30, 1849.
