Biography

James Hobart was born on August 2, 1766 in Pymouth, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1794, after which he studied theology with Rev. Asa Burton, of Thetford. He became minister on Berlin in August 1789 and was ordained pastor of the Congregational Church of Berlin in November 1789, where he stayed until May 1829. He continued to preach throughout Vermont and New Hampshire and died in 1862.
