Biography

Jonathan Harvey was born in Sutton, NH, on February 25, 1780. He served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1811-1816, 1831-1834 and 1838-1840. From 1816-1823, he served in the New Hampshire Senate and was president of that body from 1817-1823. Harvey was also a member of the Executive Council of New Hampshire from 1823-1825, after which he was elected as a Jacksonian to the 19th, 20th and 21st Congresses. Harvey died on August 23, 1859.
