Biography

Daniel James Noyes was born on September 17, 1812 in Springfield, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1832 and Andover Theological Seminary in 1836 before receiving his DD from the University of Vermont in 1853. Noyes was the Phillips professor of theology (1849-1869) and professor of political economics and intellectual philosophy (1869-1883) at Dartmouth College.
