Biography

Charles Collins Rounds was born on August 15, 1831 in Waterford, Maine. He graduated with an MS from Dartmouth College in 1857, with an AM from Bowdoin in 1870 and received his PhD from Bates College in 1881. Collins was an educator in New Hampshire and Maine and was principal of the Farmington Normal School and the Plymouth Normal School. He died on November 8, 1901.

Four-page letter from Charles Collins Rounds in Hanover, New Hampshire to Kate, telling her that he is "tired to death" of the way of life at Dartmouth and speaks of plans after graduation. Explains what a comet is. He misses Kate and longs to see her. Includes letter from July 4, 1857 from C. Rounds to Kate.
