Wiggin, Samuel Bradley, 1854-1889

 

Biography

Samuel Bradley Wiggin was born on November 22, 1854, in Sacco, Maine. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1875, after which he studied law at Columbia Law School. He practiced law in New York City with the firm Deming & Logan and also in San Francisco. Wiggin was a member of the Dartmouth Club of San Francisco, the Chit-Chat Club, and the Reform Club of New York. He was married to Kate Douglas Wiggin, a well-known author of children's stories. Wiggin died suddenly in 1889.

Abstract

Samuel Bradley Wiggin (1854-1889), lawyer. Dartmouth College Class of 1875. The collection consists of letters to his mother and brother, as well as two recommendations and two letters describing his death. A manuscript entitled "A Lady without Mercy" and a poem are also included.
