Biography

Frederick Warren Baker was born on February 1, 1917 in New York City. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1938 after which he joined the Brooklyn Savings Bank as a clerk. In 1941, he joined the army where he rose from private to captain in the Ordinance Department and was awarded the American Defense, American Theater and Victory medals. After the War, Baker returned to banking with the Irving Trust Company on Wall Street, becoming its vice president in 1958. He retired from banking in 1979 and died on February 27, 1993.
