Biography

Leon Oscar Williams was born on July 5, 1861 in Lee, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1886 and from Tufts Divinity School in 1889. His first pastorate was in Claremont, NH after which he was sent to the Ashmont Church in Boston and the Universalist Church on Stoughton, Massachusetts. In 1908, Williams was sent as the American delegate to the International Peace Conference in London. In 1915, he settled on Buffalo, New York where he was paster of the Church of Messiah until his retirement in 1925. After retirement , he lectured and became a guest pastor. Williams died in 1935.

Abstract

Leon Oscar Williams (1861-1935), minister. Dartmouth College Class of 1886. The collection contains a carbon typescript of his history of Nottingham, New Hampshire, completed in 1933.
