Biography
Hugh DeGregory was born in 1914. He was a bookkeeper from Hudson, New Hampshire. In 1940, he was the Communist candidate for lieutenant governor of Massachusetts. DeGregory spent nearly five years in the Army and was honorably discharged as a technical sergeant in 1945. He also served, for a short period after World War II, as secretary‐treasurer of the Boston office of the Communist party. DeGregory died in 2009.
