Biography

Anna Louise Strong was born on November 24, 1885 in Friend, Nebraska. She was a journalist and activist, best known for her reporting on and support for communist movements in the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China. Strong wrote over 30 books including "When Serfs Stood Up in Tibet" (1960) and "Peoples of the USSR" (1944). Strong died on March 29, 1970.
