Biography

Franklin Brooks was born on May 30, 1934 in Greenwood Mississippi. He graduates from North Texas State College with an BA in 1955 and an MA in 1956. From 1956-1957, Brooks was a Fulbright Scholar in Belgium. He joined the faculty of Dartmouth College in 1964. He received his PhD in Romance Languages from John Hopkins University in 1966 after which he became director of the Dartmouth Foreign Study program in France. He left Dartmouth in 1969 for Vanderbilt University. Brooks died in July 25, 1994.

Abstract

Franklin Brooks (1934-1994), associate professor of Romance Languages at Vanderbuilt University. The collection inlcudes source material including correspondence between Edward and Amos Tuck, for Brooks' biography of Edward Tuck, founder of the Amos Tuck School of Business. Some material related to Brooks and his family is also included.
