Llewelyn P. Howell, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine (1931-1969), Assistant Professor Emeritus of Medicine. Edna and Lew Howell became friends with Virginia and Erskine Caldwell when Erskine Caldwell became Dr. Lew Howell's patient at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
