Biography
Richard Hollerith was born in 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1949 with a degree in Naval Science and Geology. After graduation he attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Art from which graduated with a degree in industrial design. From 1951 to 1966, Hollerith worked as an industrial designer and consultant for Raymond Spilman in NYC, Monroe Calculating Machine Company and Henry Dreyfuss Associates. In 1968, he established his own consultancy firm Industrial Design Consultants and in 1969, co-founded I/O Devices, Inc.
