Biography
W.G. MacKenzie Hume (1917-1996). Pilot for the Royal Canadian Air force during World War II. Hume earned his M.D. from McGill in 1949 and was a pediatrician in Massachusetts.

Abstract
Letter to a 10 year old William Paul Nelson of Woodstock, N.H (Dartmouth class of 1961) discussing an enclosed silk screened rayon map showing portions of Spain, Portugal and Southwest France. The letter also discusses Nelson's desire to become a pilot and the history of the map. Hume describes the map as having been with him for 107 operations as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Air Force including when he was shot down over the English channel.
