Biography

Lewis Roger Wentworth was born on April 26, 1855, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1881. After graduation he studied law and passed the bar exam of Bristol County in 1884, after which he began practicing law in Somerville, Massachusetts. In 1889 and 1890, Wentworth was elected a member of the Common Council of Somerville. He was also a director in the Somerville National Bank and the Somerville Trust Company. In 1902, he was appointed judge of the district court of Somerville. He held this position until his death on September 14, 1922.
