Biography

Frank Nesmith Parsons was born on September 3, 1854 in Dover, New Hampshire. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1874. After graduation he taught for several years before beginning his study of law. He passed the bar in 1879, and opened a law office with Austin F. Pike. In 1891, Parsons was appointed the state law reporter and from 1893-1894, he served on the New Hampshire Executive Council. In 1895, he became associate justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and chief justice in 1902. He held that position until 1924, after which he served as a state representative until 1928. Parsons was also President of the Board of Trustees at Pinkerton Academy, president of Franklin Hospital, and President of the New Hampshire Historical Society. He died on August 9, 1934, in Franklin, New Hampshire.
