Biography
Stephen Williams was born in 1762 at Woodstock, Connecticut. He was the son of Reverend Stephen Williams (1693-1795) who received the degree of Doctor of Divinity from Dartmouth College in 1773. He was also the brother of Timothy Williams who was preceptor at Groton, Massachusetts. Williams was a teacher in the academy in Orford, New Hampshire and preached throughout the communities of Chelsea, Woodstock and Windsor, Vermont. He died in 1822.
