Abstract
Printed apprenticeship indenture engraved on single sheet of vellum signed by Thomas Barker and witnessed by Henry Daldarne and Samuel Normansell. Barker is indentured to Richard Haines of Stepney, a mariner. Barker was bound as an apprentice for the usual seven years and the document lists his obligations, including serving and keeping the secrets of his master, and being forbidden, amongst other things, to play cards or drink in taverns.
