Brackett, Joseph Warren, 1775-1826

 

Biography

Joseph Warren Brackett was born in 1775. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1800 where he was a member of the United Fraternity. After graduation, he read law and became a lawyer in New York City where he was also an alderman. He died on March 31, 1826.

Abstract

"The Triumph of Liberty, a dramatic piece, performed Tuesday evening preceding commencement, in the meeting house at Hanover in the vicinity of Dartmouth College by the students of the College, who were members of the United Fraternity." The codex is attributed to Joseph Warren Brackett (1775-1826) who played Adolphus in the play. Daniel Webster played the part of Cormal.
