Fisk, Cyrus Mentor, 1825-1895

 

Biography

Cyrus Mentor Fisk was born on January 9, 1825. He graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1847, after which he began practicing medicine in Contoocook. In 1863, he enlisted in the Sixteenth Regiment, New Hampshire Volunteers; was appointed Assistant Surgeon and promoted to Surgeon. He served under Gen. Banks in the expedition before Port Hudson. In August, the following year, was mustered out of service and returned home to resume his practice. In 1872, he moved to Lowell and took over the practice of Dr. Savory. After twenty-two years in Lowell, he returned to Bradford where he died on January 21, 1895.
