Biography

Paul F. Munde was born in 1846 in Saxony, Germany. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1866 and served as a surgeon in the Bavarian army in the war of 1866 and distinguished himself in the Franco-Prussian War. From 1874-1892, Munde was editor of the American Journal of Obstetrics. He was also one of the founders of the American Gynecological Society of which he was president in 1898. In 1897, he received an honorary degree from Dartmouth College. Munde died on February 9, 1902.
